The Luminous Sword Trilogy is a collection of fantasy, mystery and adventure stories suitable for 8-14 years old. The oldest reader is over 60 years old. The first book is "Woods of Mystery"; the second book is "The Winter Jewel" and the third book is "Keys of Archellos".
“Keys of Archellos” won the Singapore Book Awards (2020) Best Middle Grade and Young Adult Book Title.
Inspiration: Many of the adventures in the oceans, seas and lands have been inspired by Iceland, United Kingdom, Singapore, United States, Spain, Greece, Australia, China, Middle East, India, etc. The author Eunice Li-Tan had hiked across lava fields in Iceland and entered into the magma chamber of the dormant Þríhnúkagígur volcano, and she walked on the Vatnajökull Glacier to research the scenes in her third book "Keys of Archellos". The author hopes that readers can feel as if they have been transported all around the globe while they read the Luminous Sword Trilogy books.
For Book 3 “Keys of Archellos”, aspects of Giant Land are inspired by the famous Spanish Architect Antoni Gaudi’s designs of trencadis tiling and Singapore’s Gardens by the Bay’s Cloud Forest. Archellos Land has been inspired by the “land of fire and ice” - Iceland while the Undersea Sediment has been inspired by the author's scuba diving experiences in Australia’s Great Barrier Reef and other parts of Asia.
May the Luminous Sword Trilogy (120,000+ words) be enjoyed by children and the young-at-heart in Singapore and all around the world!
